Tapping resources efficiently
Sterling held a free-flowing discussion with UbiSim marketing leaders to identify appropriate themes for contributed articles. Combining the ideas from this session with existing blog content, Sterling collaborated with the lead nurse educator to produce six articles in nine months on topics showcasing the benefits of VR in nursing education to improve opportunities for nurse learners to polish clinical judgment, therapeutic communication, and team collaboration skills. Sterling established the UbiSim lead nurse educator as a regular contributor to the MedCity News influencer program and also matched UbiSim experts with reporters at health-focused publications for feature stories in Healthcare IT Today and Health Tech World. What’s even more impressive is that one UbiSim byline ended up as a cover story for Hospital News!Promoting owned research
When the UbiSim marketing team decided to conduct a primary research study on headset-based VR, they secured nearly 1,300 survey responses. With Sterling’s advice, the team extracted statistically valid non-promotional data points for Sterling to use as the foundation for two announcements, reflecting the attitudes of nurse learners and the concerns of instructors. Sterling then repurposed the data points from the two press releases in multiple bylined articles.Supporting business development
The Sterling team assisted in the creation of sales leads whenever possible. Sterling closely monitored media coverage on the use of simulation at nursing colleges, and flagged simulation leaders to the business development team for further exploration. Sterling also tracked nursing colleges on the receiving end of government or philanthropic grants for funding new technology adoption. Within six months, at least one of Sterling’s suggested business leads, a large university ranked #1 for its online nursing program, was ushered through to closing and even agreed to a case study for the UbiSim website! Third-party validation through industry awards also reinforced business development efforts. Sterling initiated a targeted awards program for UbiSim, securing wins in EdTech Digest Awards, EdTech Breakthrough Awards, and the Merit Awards for Healthcare — and culminating with the TIME “Best Inventions” list.Verbatim
